About USCryptoTaxFilingOct15
Most US individuals who extended their 2025 tax filing must file by Oct 15. It is the first filing year under Form 1099-DA, which requires covered digital asset brokers to report gross proceeds. Under current IRS rules, digital asset sales, crypto swaps, purchases with digital assets and income such as staking rewards must be reported. Separately, the Senate's proposed ADAPT Act would revise tax rules for stablecoins and staking, but remains in the legislative process.

#USCryptoTaxFilingOct15 Crypto tax is getting harder to ignore 👀
Oct 15 is the deadline for most US individuals who extended their 2025 filing, and this is the first year of Form 1099-DA.
What caught my attention is the shift in visibility. Brokers now report gross proceeds, while sales, swaps, crypto spending and staking income can all carry reporting obligations.
The ADAPT Act may change some rules later, but today's obligations remain.
Crypto tax is moving from self-tracking toward
Oct 15 is less about a deadline than a maturity test for US crypto record-keeping. Form 1099-DA reporting of gross proceeds may make gaps between broker data and a taxpayer's full activity more visible, especially where swaps, spending, or staking are involved.
The ADAPT Act remains a proposal, so planning should follow current rules, not hoped-for changes.
Not advice, just analysis.

ICYMI: What's in the Senate's new crypto tax bill, the ADAPT Act:
• No taxable gain or loss when paying for goods and services with qualifying US dollar stablecoins.
• No separate gains calculation on crypto network fees of $10 or less, except for professional and high-volume traders.
• Wash-sale rules for crypto: no claiming a loss if you buy back within 30 days.
• Traders can opt to be taxed on gains and losses each year, sold or not.
• Crypto lending treated like securities lending, so qualifying loans aren't taxable events.
• Treasury to set rules within a year for moving offshore DAO foundations onshore.
Most provisions would start in 2027.
It still has to pass both chambers.

US CONGRESS IS LEAVING WASHINGTON WITHOUT ADVANCING MAJOR LEGISLATION ON AI SAFETY OR DATA-CENTER ELECTRICITY COSTS, AS PARTISAN DISAGREEMENTS BLOCKED SEVERAL PROPOSALS.
LAWMAKERS HAVE INTRODUCED BILLS COVERING AI SAFETY, NATIONAL SECURITY AND OVERSIGHT, BUT KEY MEASURES FAILED TO ADVANCE; CONGRESS IS EXPECTED TO REVISIT THE ISSUES AFTER THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS.

The United States must win the AI race. This will take close coordination with industry, neighborhoods, and local leaders. Mississippi families and taxpayers should not be left funding data center construction. Today, I voted to advance the Ratepayer Protection Act. The bill would set standards that states can consider to make data center owners responsible for any extra energy costs. The bill passed the House of Representatives 417 to 3, but nearly every Senate Democrat voted no. They blocked a widely supported solution, opting to put partisan politics over Americans’ pocketbooks.

Through a proposal sponsored by @ReynoldsForOH and @JaneTimkenOH, Senate Republicans just voted to give Ohio families relief at the pump by suspending the state's gas tax for 90 days.
Thanks to their bold leadership, upon being signed into law this will save Ohioans $726 million through the end of the year!
