History got made quietly on a Tuesday: Microsoft added around $450B in market value in a single day, its biggest one-day gain since 2008 and one of the largest in market history, on booming cloud and AI. Azure alone is running toward $104B in annual revenue. The AI trade, declared dead a week ago, just printed its loudest counterargument. But read the footnotes. Microsoft's own filings show OpenAI accounted for $24B of its revenue and still owes billions, real concentration and circularity beneath the record numbers. It's the same theme I keep flagging: the AI boom is enormous and increasingly self-referential, the biggest players funding and billing each other. For crypto, the resonance is that the infrastructure story it's tied to is being validated at staggering scale, and stress-tested for fragility at the same time. Impressive and worth watching, both.
