JUP Is Testing a Bigger Question About Token Value The interesting story around $JUP today is not simply that the token moved. It is why the market is paying attention to its tokenomics again. Jupiter has been routing 50% of protocol fees toward $JUP buybacks, while a new governance proposal is now pushing for that allocation to rise to 70% and for purchased tokens to be permanently burned. That creates a much more important question: Can protocol activity actually translate into token value? JUP is becoming a useful case study because Jupiter already has a functioning DeFi business. Users generate activity. Activity generates fees. Fees can fund buybacks. Buybacks can reduce available supply. The proposed mechanism tries to make that loop even stronger: Jupiter grows → revenue increases → more JUP is bought → more JUP is burned → supply decreases. That is fundamentally different from a token relying only on narrative. But there is an important caveat. Buybacks alone do not guarantee price appreciation. Across crypto, projects have spent roughly $638M on token buybacks in 2026, yet performance has been extremely uneven. So I am watching the value-capture mechanism, not the headline. The latest JUP proposal also suggests staking benefits, fee discounts and additional utility, which could create organic reasons to hold JUP rather than simply speculate on it. My radar: $JUP — whether buybacks become meaningful long-term demand. $SOL — the health of the underlying ecosystem matters. $HYPE — the strongest comparison for revenue-driven token value capture. $AAVE and $UNI — watching how DeFi protocols connect revenue with token utility. $BNB — another major example of ecosystem activity supporting token demand. $LINK — a reminder that infrastructure usage and token value are not automatically the same thing. $PENDLE, $CRV and $LDO — different models for capturing protocol-level value. The broader market may be entering a phase where traders care less about “What is the narrative?” #BTCGoldCorr+0.50 #HammackBacksHike #OKXOutcomeLeagueFOMC
