About BTCETFFlowParadox

BTC slipped toward $83K after repeatedly failing to break $87K. CoinGlass data cited in the brief puts 24-hour BTC liquidations at $67.52M, including $57.7M in long positions. US spot BTC ETFs swung from $89.9M in net outflows on Oct 5 to about $119M in inflows on Oct 6. Around 22,000 BTC options worth $1.84B are due to expire on Oct 9. Are ETF buyers supporting BTC, or merely offsetting leveraged selling and pressure from rising Treasury yields and oil prices?

ETF inflows, BTC down. Why the disconnect? BTC slipped toward $83K after failing several times near $87K. At first glance, that looks odd: US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted about $118.8M in net inflows on October 6, even as price weakened. But one day of ETF data does not tell the full story. · The timeline flipped fast. Farside data shows about $89.8M in net outflows on October 5, $118.8M in inflows on October 6, then $484.9M in outflows on October 7 · The October 6 inflow was concentrated. IBIT brought in about $122M, more than the category’s total net inflow, while Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust saw outflows · By October 7, withdrawals were broader, with outflows from IBIT, FBTC, ARKB, BITB, HODL and GBTC · ETF flows are not a real-time map of all BTC demand. They capture US-listed fund activity, while spot, perps and options trade globally around the clock · Leverage can amplify price moves. When BTC loses key levels, long liquidations can add short-term selling pressure even if one channel shows inflows · Options expiry matters, but it is not a magic forecast. BTC options expire on October 9, and open interest can shape positioning, but it does not guarantee direction The bigger read is simple: ETF demand matters, but it is not a price floor. A single inflow day can coexist with selling elsewhere, especially when macro conditions, yields, leverage and derivatives positioning are all moving at the same time. The market is not only asking whether ETFs bought BTC. It is asking whether demand is broad enough to absorb selling across venues. What matters next is whether ETF outflows persist, whether demand broadens beyond one fund, and how BTC trades after leverage resets. For retail traders, the clean question is this: are you watching ETF flows, liquidation levels, or the $87K resistance first? #BTCETFFlowParadox

BTC vs ETH: a split in ETF flows. BTC attracted $241.1M last week — its third straight week of inflows — while ETH bled $138M after pulling in $690M the week before. BTC trades ~$83,835, ETH ~$2,607. Yet ETH's fund holdings are rebounding 23% from July lows. Flows say one thing, holdings say another. $BTC $ETH

#BTCWhalePressureEases BTC may not need whales to start buying aggressively. It might just need them to stop selling 👀 After 3+ months of net whale transfers to exchanges, that pressure has finally faded. Meanwhile, spot ETFs have quietly logged 3 straight weeks of inflows What stands out is the supply-demand setup. Fewer whale coins heading toward exchanges plus steady ETF buying means less new demand may be needed to move price Sometimes removing a seller matters as much as adding a buyer

📊 $BTC liquidity is tightening. Lower BTC-denominated volume doesn’t necessarily mean weaker demand. Meanwhile, spot ETFs are accumulating while exchange reserves keep falling. Less BTC on exchanges + rising institutional holdings = tighter supply. #BTC #Crypto #SepFOMCRateHikeOutlook #BTCWhalePressureEases #OKXNOW:24x7MarketEra

$BTC BITCOIN SUPPLY PRESSURE MAY BE EASING Glassnode data shows the 3+ month trend of whale BTC deposits into exchanges has ended, with whale flows now shifting toward net withdrawals. Meanwhile, U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded $241M+ in weekly inflows, marking a third consecutive positive week. Less whale selling + renewed ETF demand = an interesting setup for BTC. 👀₿📈#BTCWhalePressureEases

#BTCWhalePressureEases Whale selling pressure just eased after three months of consistent transfers to exchanges 👀 Glassnode data is flipping: the net whale-to-exchange flow that had been a steady pressure valve is now reversing. That's either whales taking profits after the move up, or — more likely — they're done selling and repositioning long 📊 At the same time, US spot Bitcoin ETFs logged three consecutive weeks of net inflows through October 2. Latest week pulled in ~$241M. Not massive, but consistent buying from institutions when whales are done dumping 🔥 The two flows moving in opposite directions simultaneously is the signal here. Whale pressure easing AND institutional inflows accelerating suggests a shift in the supply-demand balance 📈 Macro backdrop isn't bad either: Fed minutes out today at 2pm, ISM Services came in cooler than expected. Rate hike odds for October have eased. That gives BTC room to breathe 🤔 Three months of whale transfers ending, three weeks of ETF inflows, hike odds falling — is this the setup for a real relief rally, or just another false bottom? 👇

$BTC spot ETFs pulled in $2.39B in the week ending Sept 25, the best since Oct 2025, flipping 2026 positive after a $5.8B hole in mid-July. But look closer: Monday brought ~$1B, Friday only ~$135M. River noted ETFs had bought just ~18K $BTC in September by Sept 23. Fear & Greed read 72 on Oct 1, so I'd rather wait for calm dips than chase green candles. Not financial advice. $BTC #BTCWhalePressureEases

The BTC ETFs saw $119M in net inflows on Tuesday and continue a steady inflow trend. The ETH ETFs, on the other hand, saw $202M in net outflows and now a 6-day outflow streak.

When the biggest holders stop selling as aggressively, I start paying attention. BTC has recently faced some heavy whale profit taking, especially around the push toward $87K. But there are now signs that large holder activity is cooling and some whales are shifting back toward accumulation. Personally, I wouldn’t call this bullish confirmation just yet. What I want to see is whether whale selling continues to ease while spot demand stays healthy. If fewer large holders are sending BTC to exchanges and buyers continue absorbing available supply, that would make the market structure look much stronger to me. But if whales start distributing again every time BTC approaches resistance, then the selling pressure hasn’t really disappeared it has just taken a break. That’s why I’m watching behavior, not just price. Whales don’t need to start buying aggressively. Sometimes simply selling less can change the balance. 👀 #BTCWhalePressureEases $BTC
